My Moo Mini Cards Arrived

Hey there:Just curious... I know the estimate is 10 days until buyers receive their cards, but is that a solid estimate for how long it typically takes to print and ship the goods?I'm wondering because I'm really, really hoping to get my MOO cards in the mail by Sept. 28, but that might be pushing it since I only ordered the cards on Sept. 20... I'm going to a festival the next day and want to be able to get the cards out there! Thanks so much, keep up the great work.5:05PM, 22 September 2006 PST(permalink)

Perhaps people from around the world who already got their cards could reply to your post and state a) their location and b) how long it took for their cards to get to them. This way people who are wondering, could compare delivery times for locations close to theirs.I'm in Bulgaria and ordered mine on Sep 21st. Will post here as soon as I get them. :-)ages ago(permalink)

I'm in Bulgaria.Ordered the 10-pack on Sep 21st.Received the dispatch confirmation email on Oct 1st.Got my minicards on Oct 10th.In order not to duplicate posts, I'll just link to my feedback in another discussionages ago(permalink)

Has anyone noticed it's only people from the USA who are complaining about how long it takes for the cards to arrive..... have they considered that maybe 1) it's not Moo's fault 2) there's a small thing called the atlantic in the way and 3) american postal system is not exactly the best in the world.............ages ago(permalink)

What's interesting is that my roommate and I both ordered our cards on the same evening (Order date: 9/21) but hers arrived here in California Friday 10/6 while mine are yet to be seen.(rest of post blaming Moo for obstructing our steadfast postal workers by with some atlana-something-or-other has been cancelled due to stunning revalations :P )UPDATE: My cards arrived today, 10/13. (That's 16 working days, and 22 days total, from Order to Arrival.) I noticed that the print shop used to ship my cards was in San Francisco, very close to where I live. I expected the delay to be due to UK to US delivery, but apparently not. Also: Still no idea why my roommate, who ordered her cards at the same time that I did, received hers a full week before me.UPDATE 2: Oh hey, I noticed that the cards were postmarked Oct 10th. Not Oct 2nd, which is when I got the email from MOO that my cards were in the mail. There is definately some miscommunication going on in these early phases of MOO's existance. In Summary:10 pack freebieOrdered: September 20 (21, UK time)"Dispatched": October 2Postmarked: October 10Arrived: October 13Originally posted ages ago. I completely agree 200% with abouthisboy...The UK postal service doesn't offer tracking for LETTER packages !!! The cards come nicely through the post as letters rather than parcels...From reading through all the posts 90% of people seem to have got their FREE cards within the 10 days and I'd call that a RESULT !BRAVO MOO !ages ago(permalink)

I'm deleting my comments from this thread not because I don't stand by my opinion, but because I realized how silly it was to argue with total strangers in a random Flickr thread. I hope that you all enjoy your Moo cards and I look forward to seeing more success stories from this new company. As for insults, I'd be careful throwing stones in your lovely glass houses, mmkay? Happy days, folks.Originally posted ages ago. (permalink) The Fuzzball edited this topic ages ago.

100 Batch #1Ordered: Oct. 3Disbatched: Oct. 6Arrived: Oct. 11100 Batch #2Order: Late on Oct. 3Dispatched: Oct. 6Arrived: Oct. 10A few of them the cropping was less than what I wanted, but they are still usable for the most part. Like others have said, some are darker than they should be. I did love the quality of the black and white images. Additionally, shipping was great, at first I was worried when I recieved my second order first, but as you can see they've both arrived. In case anyone was wondering. I'm in the US, New York state specifically.ages ago(permalink)

Why is my free 10-pack taking so long? ...a special note to some of our friends in the USAThis is the story of the story of well-intended idea that went quite badly. As you may know, MOO Print makes and ships its cards from the heart of Clerkenwell, London. When we conceived the 10,000 10-pack giveaway, we were a little unsure of the delivery times to the United States so we (I) thought we'd ensure normal US postal delivery times, plus one day, by bulk shipping the 10-packs via UPS Next Day Air and inserting them into the US mail system. It all sounded good on paper, but what I neglected to factor in was the heightened state of alert concerning UK freight to the Department of Homeland Security. It seems that some of our boxes of innocent little cards were held as suspected terrorist materials, essentially nullifying our Next Day promise from UPS. Add another pinch of normal unapologetic UPS ineptitude and we have about 10% of our USA 10-packs VERY late. The last 550 of them are to be inserted in the US mail today, by my good friend Josh at Memento Press in San Francisco, who has done a brilliant job of stamping and posting envelopes the same day that he receives them from us. He also makes some pretty nice custom photo books from your digital images ;-)We've since learned that the Royal Mail provides outstanding service directly to the States and most everywhere else in the world. Delivery times range from about 3 to 7 days world wide via first-class mail. That's how we will be shipping everything from London from now on.I will never use UPS to ship your very special MiniCards to the USA again. I promise that.Thank you for your continued patience and support.-Brian from the MOO Print TeamOriginally posted ages ago. (permalink) bjmurphy234 edited this topic ages ago.

I ordered my freebies on the 19th September, they were shipped on 30th September. I can't remember exactly, but it only took a couple of days to arrive.I ordered my 100 pack on 8th October, they shipped yesterday and arrived today, so I'm *very* impressed!I'm in the UKages ago(permalink)

I started by looking online for reviews of business card printing services. I consulted roundups by Business.com, Lifehacker, Reviews.com (the article is no longer available), and Hiveage. I also researched how to design cards that stand out, so I could compare features from various printing services.

I then consulted with our four experts to find out what makes a great business card and a great business card printing service. I also interviewed a panel of Wirecutter colleagues, many of whom have been freelance writers and have designed and printed their own cards.

From this group, I started by ordering sample packs from the sites that offered them to compare materials and finishes. To see how well each handled printing challenging designs, I worked with Wirecutter creative director Ryan Hines to create a print test. This card let us test how well each service rendered colors, fine lines, and photos, and how consistently it trimmed cards.

On the back of each card, we added blocks of both CMYK and Pantone colors to see how each service converted and printed these colors, along with a color gradient to see how the services handled changes in tone. Ryan compared the color swatches on the cards we received with the Pantone Color Bridge Coated book.

The Jukebox cards were also cut consistently (along the same lines) and cleanly (without jagged edges). Jukebox did end up scaling our design to fit into the card, thereby altering it slightly, but when we compared them side by side with other cards to look for uneven edges, look for white spaces above our colorful border, and see if the fronts and backs of cards matched up, it was clear that Jukebox did the overall best trimming job.

I spoke with Jukebox support over live chat, email, and phone. As with Vistaprint, the representatives were consistently helpful and responded quickly via live chat and email. Jukebox has a handy FAQ section, which the company strongly recommends using to help prevent errors. Customer support representatives also said that in the event of a misprinted order, Jukebox would reprint and send cards as quickly as possible.

I hope that this post has given you some clarity on making your own business cards, calling cards, or even play date cards! If you have any questions or input, please let me know in the comments. Otherwise, stay tuned for my next blog post over 2014 goal lists, which will appear on Saturday notice I am holding myself to blogging more!

As a professional planner, I highly value the presentation of gifts and details. I love that my business cards and note cards arrived in heavy weight boxes that I can use to store these cards in. You can see the presentation boxes in the image below. 2ff7e9595c
